At Sweeny High, we offer our students an exciting and hands-on learning experience in broadcasting, podcasting, and journalism! Through our GATA Network broadcast, student-led podcasts, and the campus newspaper The Barker our students are always in the know about the latest news and events. We're all about giving our students the tools and opportunities they need to shine in their chosen fields!
The Sweeny ISD Education Foundation Bright Minds Grant helped turn the GATA Network broadcasting trailer into a reality! Thanks to this incredible support, our students are now exploring journalism, communications, and audio/visual production in ways that were once only dreams. This grant is opening up a world of opportunities, and we are deeply grateful to the Education Foundation for empowering our students to thrive and pursue their passions!
